I often find my 4 year old daughter watching pointless YouTube videos, but one YouTuber really caught my attention. Her channel name is SaraBeautyCorner and she is from Norway. She is absolutely adorable and has so many great DIY projects for girls! I fell in love, because doing DIY projects with my daughters is one of my favorite things to do.
Today, we made the watermelon notebook from one of her videos. There are a total of 10 school supply projects in this video, and I am looking forward to trying more! One of them is a pencil bag made out of a candy bag, but I really want to make one for my teenage daughter as a makeup bag (or maybe even myself).
With my little girl starting Kindergarten in the fall (late summer), I think we will be trying out tons of DIY school supply projects in the near future. For the watermelon notebook, you will need:
Lined notebook (any notebook will do, actually)
Potato (cut into wedges)
Some of my materials
Watermelon prints with the potato
This project was so easy, and it took just minutes to create. In her version, she glued the paper to the notebook first, but I painted on it first, let it dry, and then cut it to fit with a paper cutter. As detailed in the video, you can cut the potato into different shapes for different stamps. I was thinking about making one cut into a heart shape using a small cookie cutter as a template.
Have fun! This is a really cute project and I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did with my little one!
