First of all, I love sugar scrubs! During the Christmas season, I stocked up during sales at Bath and Body Works. I fell in love with their foaming sugar scrubs, and when I ran out, I figured I would try to make my own. I have made my own sugar scrubs before but never a foaming sugar scrub I couldn’t believe how easy it was! I experimented with my own recipe and this is what I came up with! I hope you like it. My favorite way to use it is to exfoliate my legs in the shower before I shave. I get a much closer shave and it leaves my legs so soft!
Lavender Lemon Foaming Sugar Scrub
1 1/2 cups white sugar
3/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup grapeseed oil (you can substitute more coconut oil if you don’t have any or it is a bit too oily for your taste)
4 TB Lavender Pure Castile Soap (you can also use unscented and add your own essential oil)
Few drops of lemon essential oil (it is strong, so don’t over do it or your won’t be able to smell the lavender)
Put coconut oil in a glass bowl or measuring cup and microwave for 30 seconds. You want it to be nearly melted, but not hot. Add grapeseed oil, if using. Add sugar and stir well. Consistency should be thick. If not, add more sugar to desired consistency. Next, add essential oil and castile soap. Stir to combine.
That’s it! You can use it as a body scrub or hand scrub. I love how this scrub foams slightly when used. I even let my 4 year old daughter use it. She loved the scent!
