I love the scent of lavender and vanilla, but you can use any scent(s) in this basic recipe. My daughter and I love making things together. She is 4. We have made lip balms for her sister (my 16 year old daughter), her grandmas, her teacher, and ourselves. We made this lip scrub to complement our lip balms.  It is just a basic sugar scrub, and works really well!

We make all kinds of scrubs. I even have one that we use to exfoliate our legs (again, I’m talking about the 16 year old) before we shave. It gives a much closer shave and leaves your legs feeling so soft! Anyway, about the lip scrub…

I love that this lip scrub because it is very inexpensive to make, and it works! I bought lip scrubs and gotten a few in the beauty boxes that I subscribe to. They are great, but this one works just as well, you can customize the scent to your liking, and is doesn’t cost nearly as much! I just saw one on Amazon for $14, and that is cheap compared to the high end brands.

This lip scrub has only 3 basic ingredients, plus the flavoring/scent. Have fun creating your lip scrub. I was thinking about using rose or lemon in the next batch.

Lavender Vanilla Lip Scrub

Equal parts:

Coconut Oil (affiliate link)

Brown Sugar

White Sugar

Several drops lavender essential oil (or any essential oil you prefer – affiliate link)

Small amount vanilla extract (I usually just splash a little in there. I tried vanilla oil, but it didn’t give me the flavor I wanted)

So, how do you make it? Mix all ingredients well. That’s it! I put some into small containers for my daughters and a few friends as gifts. It smells so good! I wouldn’t eat it, but it tastes good too. You might taste it, because it is going on your lips after all!

Here is another great coconut oil on Amazon:
